Our Crew
Captain Rachel Schackne
Captain Rachel Schackne has been with us for 9 years! She is a dive instructor and 50 ton USCG captain that is a passionate ocean enthusiast! Rachel went to the University of Hawaii and got her degree in marine biology! It is her passion now to share her knowledge about marine life and introduce guests to the amazing Kona waters! She is also a professional freediver and loves to show our guests her famous “bubble ring tricks”!
Michael Hale
Michael Hale has been with us for 6 years! Dive instructor and 100 ton master captain, Michael’s knowledge and love for the ocean is unsurpassed ! Studying geology in college, he spent years working as a white water kayak guide in Colorado and Africa before joining us at torpedo tours! His dad jokes and overall sense of enjoyment makes our tours so special! He is also a USCG captain instructor and manta enthusiast ! Oh, and don’t forget Ceiba, Michaels boat pup ! She is a mini Australian shepherd that loves the ocean and riding on the manta snorkel board!
Captain Mike Milligan
Captain Mike Milligan, owner and 100 ton USCG captain started running trips from shore with hand held torpedos where you could scuba dive with dolphins and on reefs with the fun excitement of hand held propulsion ! Him and his wife then started torpedo tours to take guests out on the Kona waters 35 years ago! He was one of the original operators of the manta ray night dive. His skill and expertise at boating is well renowned and is often referred to as “the best captain in the harbor” his skills allow you to feel safe and excited while pulling into coves and finding animals offshore!
